"My art career has been focused on creating paintings of the human figure in a traditional style. My objective is to depict the human figure in a more expressive manner introducing a new perspective on motion and emotion combining various media and techniques. My most recent works are photographic manipulations and garden art."
As a nationally recognized portrait and figure painter, writer and lecturer, Barta is listed in Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Notable Women of Texas. She is the recipient of the first American Artist Achievement Award for Pastel Artist and first Dallas Senior Hall of Fame award for Creative Endeavors. As founder of the Pastel Society of the Southwest, her work has been featured in American Artist, Southwest Art, and Today's Dallas Woman Magazines including exhibitions throughout the United States.
